The signing ceremony took place as education digital transformation is being accelerated, with Government tasks relating to the national learning portal and shared open learning resource repository to promote digital transformation in education. The connection of resources between professional organisations and technology enterprises is expected to contribute to the formation of a synchronous, modern and convenient digital education ecosystem for learners.
Under the cooperation agreement, the MobiFone Digital Services Centre will take the lead in developing the overall architecture and be responsible for technological and infrastructure capacity. VAEDR will serve as a bridge to mobilise the network of publishers, EdTech enterprises, experts and excellent lecturers at home and abroad to contribute to and enrich digital learning resources.
Nguyen Mau Khue, Deputy Director in charge of the MobiFone Digital Services Centre, said the cooperation focuses on three areas: researching and building the national learning portal and shared open learning resource repository; piloting proof of concept in several localities, initially in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City; and coordinating in tasks, programmes and projects on education digital transformation of the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training.
Speaking at the event, Dr Nguyen Khac Khanh, President of the Viet Nam Association of Educational Books and Electronic Learning Resources, said the combination of MobiFone’s technological resources with the association’s professional network and learning resources will create added value for learners and teachers, while opening up opportunities to develop learning platforms and shared learning resource repositories.
Highly appreciating the cooperation between the two sides, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Bui Son Nam, Deputy General Director of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation, said this is an important step for MobiFone to accompany the education sector in developing digital education infrastructure and platforms.
In addition to researching and developing shared platforms and learning resource repositories, the MobiFone Digital Services Centre and VAEDR are oriented towards coordinating in national education digital transformation programmes and projects, and researching new models and solutions to meet the practical requirements of the education sector.
Cooperation between the two units reflects the trend of connecting technology and education resources in the process of building platforms, products and solutions for teaching and learning, contributing to the development of a synchronous and shared digital education ecosystem and making positive contributions to social development.
