At a ceremony in Hanoi to celebrate the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), the Hanoi Municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the State President's decision on the recognition of 39 individuals as “Meritorious Artisans”.

All of the honoured individuals are artisans who have gained excellent achievements in promoting intangible aspects of culture including folk knowledge and folk art performance.

Also on the same day, 16 artisans in Ho Chi Minh City were honoured with the same title at a ceremony organised by the municipal Organising Board for Major Holidays.

On this occasion, the city also praised organisations and individuals for their contributions to managing historical and cultural relic sites in 2015.
