The political report presented at the congress clarified that despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges in the past tenure, corporations, companies and banks under the block still realised their key role as important tools for the Party and State to regulate and stabilise the macro-economy and ensure social welfare.

The CBB accounts for approximately 40% of State budget collection and nearly 30% of the gross domestic product annually, ensuring stable employment for more than 1.3 million workers, it said.

The report also put forward the CBB’s orientations and tasks for the 2015-2020 term, which include renovating Party leadership, building a transparent and strong Party, and improving production efficiency and competitiveness for enterprises.

On behalf of the Politburo, PM Dung praised the outstanding achievements made by officials, Party members and workers of the CBB over the past five years.

The government leader urged the CBB Party Committee to continue creatively and effectively realising the Party resolutions and State laws, especially the Resolution of the upcoming 12th Party Congress on State-owned companies, enhancing businesses’ management effectiveness, improving labourers’ lives, and promoting State-owned enterprises’ key role in the socialist-oriented market economy.

He also asked for the CBB Party Committee’s continued focus on directing comprehensive restructuring of enterprises and addressing the delay and stagnation in fulfilling this key task.

On the occasion, PM Dung presented the Independence Order, first class to the CBB Party Committee and the Labour Order, second class to Secretary of the Party Committee, Bui Van Cuong.
