In the business environment, this requirement needs to be translated into concrete practice through the quality of work, exemplary conduct, a strong sense of discipline, and the practical contributions made by each Party member.
Setting an example through action and affirming the value of Party members
One of the consistent requirements of Party building is that every Party member must truly take the lead, set a good example, and ensure that words are matched by deeds. In the business environment, Party members’ responsibility to set an example is first and foremost reflected in their professional competence, the quality of their work, their spirit of innovation and creativity, their awareness of and compliance with discipline, and their sense of responsibility towards the collective.
When faced with difficulties and obstacles in their work, each Party member must not avoid responsibility or shift it onto others, but should instead confidently put forward initiatives and propose improvements to processes within the scope of their assigned duties, while taking responsibility for the tasks they undertake.
The experience of Hyundai Viet Nam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (HVS) demonstrates the particular significance of affirming the role of Party members in a foreign-invested business. The HVS Party Committee has five Party cells with a total of 71 Party members, while the company employs more than 4,500 workers.
The specific nature of its continuous production operations and shift-based working arrangements places particular demands on maintaining Party cell activities, providing political and ideological education, and ensuring cohesion among Party members.
Meanwhile, the Party organisation does not directly make personnel decisions or manage the company's production and business operations. Therefore, Party members’ exemplary role must be further affirmed through the positions they hold, their sense of responsibility at work, and the effectiveness with which they perform their assigned duties.
With a clear orientation in place, the HVS Party Committee has focused on renewing its methods of operation to make them more suitable for the specific characteristics of production and the working conditions of Party members. Alongside maintaining regular Party cell activities, political and ideological education has been delivered through various formats, helping Party members receive timely information and maintain connections with one another despite working in different shifts.
The study and practice of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, methods, and style have been closely linked to professional duties, observance of discipline, technical improvements, efforts to increase productivity, and a spirit of supporting colleagues.
According to HVS Deputy General Director and Secretary of the HVS Party Committee Le Van Toan, the role of the Party organisation is first and foremost reflected in Party members’ pioneering and exemplary conduct at work, the quality of their labour, and their specific contributions to the company and its workers.
When business partners and colleagues see that Party members are responsible and consistently match their words with their actions, the Party organisation can build its credibility through practical deeds. This is also a way of translating the requirements of Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW into practice in the specific operating conditions of a business.
Assessing the exemplary role of Party members, HVS General Director Jin Sang Ho said that most Party members at the company were outstanding managers and workers who consistently made every effort in their work, thereby creating a positive influence and encouraging their colleagues to learn from and follow their example.
Linking business responsibility with the interests of workers and society
In the business environment, Party members’ pioneering and exemplary spirit is also demonstrated through their observance of the law, commitment to maintaining business ethics, and respect for the lawful rights and interests of workers and society. This is also reflected in their proactive willingness to listen to workers’ thoughts and aspirations, promptly report difficulties and obstacles, and make efforts to work together with the collective to find solutions to address them.
When workers’ legitimate interests receive due attention, their sense of responsibility and consensus in labour and production are strengthened. This, in turn, gives workers greater motivation to remain committed to the company, develop their capabilities, and make further contributions to its overall development.
At every business, income, benefits, and working conditions not only determine workers’ quality of life, but also directly affect workforce stability as well as the effectiveness of production and business operations. Fully aware of this, alongside emphasising the pioneering and exemplary role of Party members, the HVS Party Committee has focused on directing mass organisations to pay due attention to workers’ lives and welfare, while helping build a united working environment.
These results have been achieved through various factors. However, promoting Party members’ exemplary role, maintaining regular activities of the Party organisation, and improving the effectiveness of mass organisations have all contributed to strengthening discipline, a sense of responsibility, and the bond between the company and its workers. These are important conditions for building a stable and disciplined working environment, thereby laying a solid foundation for the company's sustainable development.
Experience at many businesses has shown that setting an example is not a requirement to be demonstrated only at particular moments or on special occasions, but one that must be consistently upheld throughout labour and production activities.
Party members’ exemplary role is reflected not only in the fulfilment of their individual responsibilities, but also in their ability to build trust, promote a sense of responsibility, and inspire a spirit of dedication within the collective. This is also how the spirit of Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW is translated into practice, turning requirements concerning morality, responsibility, and exemplary conduct into standards of behaviour that are consistently maintained and upheld in the business environment.
