According to a report at the meeting, the Son La Provincial Party Committee Standing Board directed the serious implementation of the resolutions and key conclusions for 2025, especially the two-tier local government model.
The province announced the resolution of the National Assembly on the arrangement of administrative units at the district and commune levels and the establishment of new Party committees; and assigned the Standing Committee of the Son La Provincial Party Committee to be in charge of subordinate Party committees.
75 communes and wards after the merger have basically stabilised their organisation and operation. The People’s Council of Son La Province has assigned a total payroll of 3,764. The Son La Provincial People’s Committee has specifically allocated 2,986 positions and 778 reserves, transferring 1,472 positions to the Party bloc.
Regarding the preparation for the Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, Son La Province has completed the congress of the grassroots party organisation and reported on the registration of the working schedule with the Politburo to give opinions on documents and personnel orientation. The work of reviewing and supplementing the provincial-level cadre planning for the terms up to 2031 has also been completed.
Speaking at the working session, PCC Secretary Le Hoai Trung requested that Son La continue to concretise and effectively implement the contents of the resolution of the 11th meeting of the Party Central Committee, with a focuson perfecting the organisation of the 2-level local government apparatus; guiding and supporting the commune level to operate stably, promoting the effectiveness of decentralisation and delegation of power.
He also requested Son La Province to pay attention to taking care of people’s lives, especially those affected by organisational restructuring; strive to achieve the growth target of 8% in 2025 and do a good job of preparing for the 16th Provincial Party Congress.
