PM chairs teleconference on rearrangement of administrative units at district, communal levels

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on July 31 presided over a national teleconference on the rearrangement of administrative units at district and communal levels in the 2023-2030 period.

The teleconference saw the presence of Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung; Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen; National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh; and other officials from central and local agencies.

PM Pham Minh Chinh emphasises that the rearrangement of administrative units is a challenging and sensitive matter, involving many people and many sectors and affecting people, businesses and other entities. However, the rearrangement of administrative units at district and communal levels is a necessary requirement amid development requirements of the country in order to streamline the administrative apparatus, increase the efficiency of State management, and create favourable conditions for people and businesses.

The PM asks for flexible and reasonable arrangement of administrative units to ensure the smooth operation of the administrative apparatus.

At the teleconference, delegates are informed of the content of National Assembly’s resolutions on rearrangement of administrative units at district and communal levels. The event also features instructions on how to arrange administrative units, adjust and supplement planning, modify administrative boundaries, manage finance and personnel, among others.
