Speaking at the meeting, Politburo member Nguyen Xuan Thang acknowledged Can Tho’s efforts in training and fostering cadres to meet the development requirements of the city in the recent time.
He noted that, with its central role and position in the Mekong Delta, Can Tho should continue to implement the resolutions of the Politburo and the National Assembly on socio-economic development.
The delegation visits and presents gifts to Khmer families in O Mon District.
The Municipal Party Committee should also actively develop training programmes and plans for officials at all levels to meet requirements and tasks in the new period; with a focus on training and fostering cadres in association with theory and practice, he said, adding that cadres must not only have knowledge but also have exemplary moral qualities in work and life.
More attention should also be paid to building a standard Political School in the city in terms of human resources, facilities, and innovating effective training methods, he said.
During the working trip, the delegation visited and gave gifts to the Khmer Theravada Buddhist Academy and Khmer families in O Mon District.
