Ha Giang urged to accelerate inspection work

Inspection committees at all levels across Ha Giang province need to strengthen inspection and supervision work, focusing on key areas and hot issues, contributing to maintaining strict Party discipline.

Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Inspection Commission Tran Quoc Vuong made the request at a working session with the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee on November 13.

Politburo member Vuong applauded the outstanding outcomes Ha Giang’s Party organisation and people have achieved in the implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress as well as socio-economic development tasks for 2016, urging the province to take drastic and synchronous measures to complete and surpass the targets and goals set for the year.

In order to lift Ha Giang out of poverty, extreme difficulties and under-development, Vuong encouraged the provincial Party organisation to continue improving its leadership capacity of local Party organisations and Party members, and bring into full play the power of solidarity between ethnic groups.

The province should mobilise and make effective use of resources and tap fully into local advantages to facilitate the pace of growth, shift the economic structure oriented towards sustainable development, and enhance competitiveness, towards building Ha Giang into a national tourist centre as well as a core region for medicinal materials, he said.

The Politburo member also requested the locale to associate socio-economic development with ensuring national defence and security, and boost international co-operation in preventing and combating trans-national crimes between Ha Giang and the Chinese side, contributing to constructing a borderline of stability, peace, co-operation and development.

Earlier, Vuong attended a working session with the standing board of the Dong Van district Party Committee, and visited officials and soldiers of the district’s Lung Cu border guard station.

At a working session with key leaders of Tuyen Quang province later the same day, Politburo member Vuong informed them of the urgent issues which the Politburo and the PCC’s Secretariat are focusing directions on.

He asked the provincial Party organisation to strengthen the battle against corruption and wastefulness in an active and practical fashion, enhance the functions of local Party organisations while building a solid political system.
