Voters nationwide informed concerning results of NA’s 4th sitting

Party and State leaders have hosted meetings with local voters across the nation to inform them of the outcomes of the recently-closed 14th National Assembly (NA)’s fourth session.

On November 27, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee's Inspection Commission Tran Quoc Vuong, along with NA deputy delegation of the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, met with voters in Luc Yen district.

The Politburo member informed the attendees of the outstanding results in the executive leadership of the Party and Government, especially the completion of 13 socio-economic development targets in 2017 and the success of the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in Da Nang early this month.

At the meeting, Luc Yen voters made proposals for local infrastructure development, especially proposals relating to roads which will connect Ha Giang and Yen Bai provinces and building the commune authorities’ headquarters, medical facilities and kindergartens. They also requested that the Government consider the facilitated tax policy for local white marble and framework for semi-specialised local staff in villages with large number of households.

Recognising comments by voters to the province’s NA deputy delegation, Politburo member Vuong noted that local officials and Party members should be close to the grassroots level and thoroughly resolve petitions to facilitate Luc Yen’s development.

Earlier the same day, Vuong visited R.K Marble Vietnam Co., Ltd., Hong Ngoc stone picture making workshop and local stone market in Yen The town.

* Also on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and the delegation of Long An province’s NA deputies met with 150 voters in Ben Luc town and An Thanh commune of Ben Luc district.

At the meeting, voters heard representatives from the province’s NA deputy delegation reporting on the results of the 14th NA’s fourth session and operation of Long An’s NA deputy delegation.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy PM Binh affirmed the determination of the Party and State in protecting the nation’s sovereignty over its sea and islands, as well as fiercely stepping up anti-corruption and wastefulness.

* NA Vice Chairwoman, Tong Thi Phong, met with local voters in Chieng Ngan commune, Son La city, in the same name province on November 27.

Local voters proposed to the NA, the Government and relevant agencies to provide early support to policy beneficiaries in housing under Resolution No. 22/2013/QÐ-TTg, invest in the construction of water storage facilities in Chieng Ngan, and provide health insurance for farmers without income, along with immediately dealing with environmental pollution caused by waste and plant protection drug store in the commune.

Phong asked Son La authorities to urgently handle issues that voters reflected. With regard to comments and recommendations by voters under the authority of the central agencies, she urged the province’s NA deputy delegation to collect and submit to competent authorities for consideration and settlement.

On the occasion, NA Vice Chairwoman Phong presented gifts to 15 disadvantaged families in Chieng Ngan commune. She also cut the ribbon to inaugurate a new recording studio of Son La Performing Arts Theatre later on the same day.

* The same meeting with local voters was also held by Head of the Central Party Committee's Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong and Dong Nai province’s NA deputy delegation in Bien Hoa city and Long Thanh district on November 27.

At the event, local voters expressed their delight at the achievements from the NA’s recently-closed sitting. They suggested handling issues on ensuring the interests of local people when the State recovered their land for implementation of key projects, especially the construction of Long Thanh International Airport, while paying attention to synchronous investment in transport infrastructure and handling local flooding in the rainy season in some areas in Bien Hoa city.

* Also on November 27, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh met with voters in Nhon Binh, Hoa Binh and Thoi Hoa communes of Tra On district in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long.

Thinh informed those in attendance that the fourth session of the 14th NA approved six laws and gave comments on nine opinions. With regard to the amendments of the Law on Corruption Prevention and Control, there are many issues that require more detailed discussions, so that the NA has decided to discuss the draft law in three sessions. She also affirmed that the spirit of the Central Government is resolutely dealing with corruption and making no “prohibited zones” in the fight against corruption and negativity.
