Cao Bang urged to promote sustainable poverty reduction

The northern mountainous province of Cao Bang should set out basic measures to reduce the number of disadvantaged households quickly and sustainably.

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh made the statement while working with leaders of Cao Bang province on the locality’s socio-economic development on September 12.

Speaking at the working session, the Vice President hailed the efforts made by Cao Bang provincial Party Committee, authorities and people, particularly in keeping border security and the welfare of the people residing in the province, especially those who are living in ethnic minority groups and remote areas.

She asked the province to promote solutions to improve the values of agricultural commodity productions, towards the exports.

In addition, the local authorities should pay much attention to new-style rural area buildings, vocational training and labour exports, as well as Party buildings and enhancing the quality and capacity of the cadres, added Vice President Thinh.

Over the past years, Cao Bang has made efforts to accelerate the public administration reform and overcome the limitations in institutions and policies to create favourable conditions for people and enterprise to develop economy.

On the occasion, Vice President Thinh authorised the leaders of Cao Bang province to present 200 gifts to outstanding students who are living in difficult circumstances, as well as books worth total VND75 million to five libraries in the province.
