National Assembly’s first general election marked in Yen Bai

A delegation of National Assembly (NA) deputies of Yen Bai Province held a get-together on January 1 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NA’s first general election (January 6, 1946-2021) and to review their performance in the 2016-2021 tenure.

Speaking at the event, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong recalled the historic milestone of the first general election of the Vietnamese legislature, which, he said, marked the first time the people showed their mastery of the country by directly casting ballots to elect qualified people to the NA.

She asked the delegation of Yen Bai deputies to further improve their qualifications, prestige and operations in the time ahead, while making good preparations for the election of deputies to the 15th NA and all-level People’s Councils in the 2021-2026 tenure.A

Previously, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong attended the inauguration ceremony of the Co Phuc Bridge over the Red River, in Co Phuc town, Tran Yen district.

The completion of this, the seventh bridge over the Red River, is expected to contribute to promoting socio-economic development, as well as ensuring national defence and security in the Northwest region.
