Former senior leaders urged to contribute to Hanoi’s development

Hanoi authorities have expressed their wish to continue receiving more contributions and suggestions from former senior leaders to facilitate the capital city’s development.

This was mentioned at a meeting between the city leaders with members of Thang Long Club on the January 8, held on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year 2021 (Tet).

The 1,500-member club was established under Decision No. 803/QĐ-TU dated December 29, 1978 of Hanoi City Party Committee, gathers former Party officials and retired senior leaders residing in Hanoi.

At the meeting, delegates suggested the city focus on solving pressing issues, including traffic congestion, drug prevention, housing issues and improving ranking indexes on public administration.

Sincerely acknowledging the recommendations from the former leaders, Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue stated that the capital city highly appreciates the enthusiastic contributions of the Thang Long Club for more than 40 years.

Hue expressed his wish that the club’s members would always be a good example and continue to contribute their efforts towards facilitating the capital city’s continued development.
