Promoting development of cultural and human factors
According to Nguyen Xuan Tuyen, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province, while evaluating the implementation results of the Resolutions of the 12th National Party Congress in the field of culture and society, in the draft Political Report, the Party Central Committee pointed out that culture has not received adequate attention and has not really become an endogenous resource and driving force for the country’s sustainable development. From the reality of the mountainous district of Tan Yen, Bac Giang province, it shows the party committees from the district to the grassroots level are fully aware of the task of building culture and humanity as both the target and the driving force to promoting socio-economic development. Over the past several terms, the District Party Committee has directed the synchronous implementation of many specific solutions such as organising political activities, studying the Party’s directives and resolutions, policies and laws of the State, learning local history; organising extracurricular educational programmes for party members, youth union members, students, and people.
However, the fact is that the building of culture and people, especially in rural and remote areas, still faces some limitations. Investment in resources for the cultural sector are still limited. The system of cultural institutions and technical and material foundations for cultural activities is inadequate and inefficient.
Officials, party members, people and especially those who are working in the cultural sector at grassroots level wish the Party’s guidelines will soon be realised, in order to more effectively build and develop Vietnamese culture and society to meet the requirements of sustainable national development. Party committees, authorities and management agencies should continue to pay attention to preserving traditional cultural values in accordance with the development of society.
Stepping up the Party building and rectification in association with the proper implementation of Directive No.05
According to Nguyen Thanh Hien, Permanent Deputy Head of the Department of Communications and Education of the Tien Giang provincial Party Committee, during its most recent term, the Party has paid special attention to the work of Party building in terms of morality. One major breakthrough solution has been the implementation of Resolution No.4 of the 12th Party Central Committee in association with Politburo Directive No.5 on studying and following the thought, morality, and style of President Ho Chi Minh. At the Party Congress of Tien Giang province, Party committees at all levels devised many creative ways and achieved positive results, thereby making an important contribution to the results of implementing local socio-economic development tasks.
Party Committees at all levels should strengthen the work of fostering, raising awareness and political determination on Party building and rectification; consider studying and following the thought, morality, and style of President Ho Chi Minh as both an urgent and regular task. The inspection and supervision of the implementation of Resolution No.4 and Directive No.5 as well as the exemplary regulations of officials and Party members should be strengthened; while at the same time, creative ways and role-models in studying and following the thought, morality, and style of President Ho Chi Minh should be multiplied.
We always believe and look forward to the Congress
The 13th National Party Congress is one of the great political events of the nation. As a village elder and Party member, Tou Prong Dzung in Ka Do commune, Don Duong district, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong expressed his belief that the Party's strong and wise decisions will help the country develop in a quick and sustainable manner. This has been shown very clearly over the past 35 years of “Doi moi” (Renewal), when Vietnam has witnessed great change in all fields, the strength of the national unity bloc has been strengthened and the position of Vietnam in the international arena has been enhanced. In particular, the national target programme on building new-style rural areas has achieved many important results, changing the face of rural areas. The most obvious proof is how villagers in Ka Do commune, Don Duong district are enjoying a prosperous and happy life in the first new rural commune and rural district in the Central Highlands.
Village elder Tou Prong Dzung expressed his wish that the 13th National Party Congress will elect a new Party Central Committee who are virtuous, talented and dedicated to leading the country in the new development period; which at the same time continuing to pay attention to improving and enhancing both the material and spiritual lives of people in disadvantaged and ethnic minority areas; taking care of building a contingent of prestigious cadres and people in ethnic minority areas; and attaching importance to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic groups, in association with tourism development.
