Welcoming the minister, PM Phuc stressed that the visit helps to consolidate and boost the Vietnam-Laos traditional friendship and special solidarity.

To maintain the relations, he suggested that the two sides continue with high-level delegation exchanges, while the two defence ministries should fulfil their role as advisors and make timely proposals to the two countries’ leaders.

In the training field, Vietnam is doing its utmost to improve the training quality for Lao students in Vietnam and is willing to help train Laos students in the fields that Laos has demand such as defence, the PM stated, adding that Vietnam will increase the training quota for Lao Defence Ministry’s officers.

He emphasised that Vietnam will try its best to help bring the Lao National Assembly House into operation as early as possible, serving as one of the symbols of the bilateral relations.

The Vietnamese Government leader also reaffirmed Vietnam’s stance of maintaining the Vietnam-Laos borderline of peace, friendship and stability, asking Lao ministries and sectors to coordinate with Vietnam to ensure border security and order and effectively prevent cross-border crime.

The Lao minister said that his visit is one among the activities to mark the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year.

He thanked the Vietnamese Party, State and Defence Ministy for supporting Laos in many fields, including defence.

He informed the host that the two ministries have coordinated effectively in ensuring security, maintaining a peaceful and friendly borderline and effectively preventing all plots with the aim disuniting or hurting the bilateral solidarity.

The two ministries have held more than 40 exchanges and cooperative activities in 2017 to respond to the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year.
