NA Chairwoman Ngan highly praised the collaboration between the two agencies over the last year, affirming that the coordinated activities have helped the NA, its agencies and NA deputies to be increasingly closer to people and voters, while collecting more practical and reliable information to improve their activities.

She stressed the need for the two sides to renew the organisational forms, contents and objects of voter contacts in order to attract more voters to participate in activities and fully express their opinions and aspirations, thus proposing quality recommendations as well as strengthening coordination to improve the quality of the collecting of opinions and recommendations from voters and people across the nation.

Ngan also asked the two parties to study, evaluate, summarise and propose amendments to the resolution regarding the meetings between the NA deputies and voters, as well as the voter contacts by deputies of the People's Councils at all levels.

In 2019, Ngan suggested that the two agencies work more closely to further promote the role of the VFF Presidium and its advisory councils in participating in legislative development and social criticism, especially in contributing comments on several draft bills, such as the Education Law (revised), Labour Code (amended) and draft revised Law on Execution of Criminal Judgments.

She also revealed that the NA and the NA Standing Committee will supervise a range of important issues this year, including the implementation of policies and laws on planning, management and use of urban land, as well as the deployment of the national target programme on sustainable poverty reduction in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Stressing that these are hot and urgent issues that are directly related to the rights and interests of local people, the NA chairwoman urged the VFF Presidium to actively coordinate with the NA Standing Committee to jointly monitor and contribute quality ideas to improve monitoring activities, as well as coordinating in directing and facilitating the implementation of recommendations and conclusions after supervision work.
