In a letter he sent to the park on the occasion of its 60th anniversary, President Phuc recalled that six decades ago, with a strategic vision, the Government issued a decision on the establishment of Cuc Phuong Forest, now Cuc Phuong National Park, making it the first national park in Vietnam and also one of the earliest-established national parks in the world.

He hailed that over the past six decades, generations of officials, cadres and workers of the park have promoted solidarity and creativity to overcome difficulties and fulfil their tasks of safeguarding and upholding values of natural forest resources and biodiversity.

He emphasised that Cuc Phuong National Park has become a particularly reliable destination for the conservation of biodiversity and genes of endangered and rare species of flora and fauna.

It is also dubbed as a 'Capital of Nature Conservation' of Vietnam. Notably, it has been honoured as Asia's Leading National Park by the World Travel Award for four consecutive years from 2019 to 2022.

In recognition of its achievement, the Party and State have awarded the park’s staff with the Independence Order, first class, along with many other accolades.

The State leader applauded the political system at all levels and local communities in the park’s buffer zones in the provinces of Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa as well as international researchers and experts, development partners, volunteers, and millions of tourists from around the world for the active support and significant contributions to the protection and sustainable development of Cuc Phuong National Park.
