Cat Ba greens public transport to develop tourism

Sun Group Corporation officially put into trial operation a modern public transport system on Cat Ba Island, from April 18, marking an important step forward in its efforts to build this island into the first ecological, net-zero destination in Vietnam.

The synchronous deployment of green vehicles such as electric buses, electric buggies and high-speed trains not only helps solve the problem of traffic infrastructure overload, but also contributes to protecting the environment and improving the experience of tourists.

Accordingly, the electric bus route will pick up tourists from Phu Long cable car station to Green Island Central Bay. The bus route schedule operates from early morning to late evening, synchronised with the schedule of Sun World Cat Ba cable car and events at Green Island Central Bay City, helping tourists easily arrange their travel, experience and entertainment schedules.

The first electric bus route will be tested from April 18 to May 15, providing free service for visitors travelling from Phu Long cable car station to Green Island Central Bay.

It is expected that in May, electric buggies will also be put into operation to serve the needs of travelling within the island. These compact, flexible and environmentally friendly vehicles will take visitors from Cat Ba Marina (Dong Ho Bay) to the Green Island Central Bay, as well as connecting to internal tourist attractions such as beaches, restaurants, and entertainment areas.

The electric car and buggy system is expected to be the backbone of the carbon-free transport network in Cat Ba, gradually replacing personal gasoline and diesel vehicles.
