Major General Son was honoured for his contributions to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.
Addressing the ceremony, Russian Deputy PM Chernyshenko underlined that Russia highly values the efforts and contributions by the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board and Major General Son to the promotion of ties between the two nations.
The Russian side, especially the All-Russian Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (VILAR), will continue to coordinate with the board to perform the task of maintaining and protecting the utmost safety of President Ho Chi Minh’s body, he stated.
For his part, Major General Son said that the order is great honour to him. He pledged that in the time to come, the board will continue to further develop its sound partnership with the VILAR, while actively contributing to reinforcing the friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
Earlier the same day, Chernyshenko and the Russian delegation laid flowers at the Bac Son Monument for Heroic Martyrs and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum.
