At a reception for visiting Governor of Oregon State Katherine Brown in Hanoi on October 20, the leader listed a range of potential collaboration spheres such as rescue work, post-natural disaster settlement, creative economy, environmental protection, clean energy, agriculture, import-export, education-training and cultural exchange.

He also praised the outstanding performance of businesses from Oregon State, like Nike and Intel, affirming that Vietnam strongly encourages enterprises from the state and the US in general to invest in the country.

Happily noting the fruitful developments in the Vietnam-US ties in various realms, particularly in economics, trade and investment, the PM affirmed Vietnam wishes to, together with the US, foster their bilateral co-operation more strongly and comprehensively to pragmatically benefit the two countries’ peoples.

Vietnam is optimistic about its relationship with the US in the future, he said.

Brown said her visit aims to expand collaboration with Vietnamese partners while also voicing her optimism about the US’s investment in Vietnam after the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement is signed and takes effect.

Apart from traditional areas such as rescue work and humanitarian relief, Oregon State stands ready to partner with Vietnam in economics, trade, clean energy and sustainable development, climate change impact combat and environmental protection, education-training and cultural affairs, among others, she said.
