Prominent among the activities include the Phong Nha Countdown Party, which will be staged in the centre of Phong Nha town, from 8 pm on December 31, 2022, to 2 pm on January 1, 2023.
The programme will feature colourful art performances by many famous artists and singers, accompanied by vivid sound and lighting effects.
Notably, a 15-minute low-range fireworks display will be set off from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2023, promising to spread an atmosphere of joy and excitement among locals and visitors, on the threshold of the new year.
The firework show will be held after an art programme, on the pedestrian street of Dong Hoi city, from 8 pm to 10 pm on December 31, 2022.
Other activities will also be organised in Phong Nha town on the last two days of 2022, including a cuisine festival, a traditional folk music show, a lion dance, and water puppetry performances.
On the morning of January 1, 2023, the provincial Tourism Department will hold welcome ceremonies at Dong Hoi Airport and Phong Nha – Ke Bang Tourist Site, to greet the first air passengers and visitors to the locality.
According to the department’s Deputy Director Dang Dong Ha, Quang Binh province targets to welcome 3.2 million to 3.5 million visitors, and fully restore tourist activities in 2023.
