Specifically, on April 1, Vietnam Airlines officially restarted the direct route between Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur. It will be operating three flights per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Currently, the airline operates seven flights per week on the Ho Chi Minh City-Kuala Lumpur route. The reopening of this route helps strengthen trade and cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia, which holds the ASEAN 2025 Chairmanship and is one of Vietnam’s key economic partners in the region.
Earlier, on March 30, the airline reconnected Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong with a frequency of one flight per day, bringing the total number of round-trip flights from Vietnam to this major Asian destination to 14 flights per week.
This contributes to boosting trade between the two major economic centres in the region while providing convenient travel opportunities for businesspeople, investors, and tourists.

Also, on March 30, Vietnam Airlines resumed the Da Nang – Bangkok route, operating four flights per week, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. By resuming this route, the airline now connects three major cities in Vietnam —Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang — to Bangkok, with a total of 60 flights per week. This expansion provides more convenient travel options for people of both countries while meeting the growing demand for tourism and connectivity between famous tourist destinations in the region.
The reopening of these three routes, along with the launch of the Ho Chi Minh City-Beijing route via Daxing Airport from March 30, not only reflects Vietnam Airlines' efforts to expand its international flight network but also plays a crucial role in enhancing Vietnam's position in the region and worldwide.
