The event drew the participation of a large number of students and people. Le Thi Ngan Ha, a student at the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City, shared that she was very excited about the event. She prepared a lot of questions for the organisers with the aim to learn more about the sea, islands, and Navy. The conference provided her with very practical and useful information.

According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Lai The Cong, Political Commissar of the Centre for Technical Assurance, since the beginning of the year, the Centre has actively developed a plan to organise the conference and assigned each group of rapporteurs to prepare reports.

Party committees, political agencies of the Centre also directed and supervised each reporter to carefully prepare the method of communication to suit each audience. The entire outline of the presenters was drafted and presented in Power Point. Many other activities were also held such as handing out leaflets, videos screening, visiting naval units, etc.

It is known that in Tien Giang Province, the target audience of the Centre is the leaders of the Communication and Education Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Steering Committee of No.35 of the province, representatives of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and representatives of socio-political organisations, the Provincial Steering Committee for External Information, Provincial-level reporters, and officials and members of Provincial Youth Union, among others.

At the Centre for Defence and Security Education, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City Minh, the audience included officials, lecturers, and students of the courses.

Accordingly, the rapporteurs focused on information on the East Sea/South China Sea situation in 2022 and the first months of 2023; the results of the struggle to protect the national sovereignty over the sea and islands of the forces, especially the Navy, and the direction and tasks in the coming time.

Nguyen Thi Uyen Trang, Standing Deputy Head of the Communication and Education Department of Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee shared that the contents were very useful, helping Party members better understand the position, role, potential and strengths of Vietnam's seas and islands in the current cause of national construction and defence.

The Party's guidelines and the State's legal documents on seas and islands such as the Law of the Sea of Vietnam was also popularised among local people, she added.

Notably, the Centre for Technical Assurance also has focused on students of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. Through their speeches and lessons on patriotism and national pride, a sense of vigilance against the plots of bad elements and hostile forces was also presented to the students, thereby raising awareness and responsibility of citizens in maintaining political security, social order and safety in the locality.

It also helped build trust and sense of responsibility in fulfilling the obligations of youth with the task of protecting the country's sovereignty over the sea and islands; successfully implemented the strategy of attracting human resources for the Navy.

Student Nguyen Hai Anh said that every day, he only learns about the sea, islands, and Navy through the media and social networks. To access the above information, they need a "filter" to choose useful information. Through this conference, he was able to directly listen to the rapporteurs of a naval unit who have been directly on missions at sea and islands, so he found it very practical.

Anh said he and his friends are very grateful for the sacrifices and contributions of generations of military officers and soldiers, including the Navy, so they can live in a peaceful life today.
