Gia Lai province in the Central Highlands provided poor and ethnic minority students VND100,000-500,000 in financial support to allow them to take the exams, while over 2,000 disadvantaged students in the northern mountainous province of Lang Son are being provided with accommodation and free meals during the tests. The Thua Thien-Hue provincial Red Cross Society has also mobilised over VND45 million to offer more than 2,100 free meals to poor students during the three day exams.

Candidates are continuing their second set of exams today with a 90 minute essay test on geography in the morning and 60 minute multiple choice biology test in the afternoon.
