Start-up contest launched for students

The Ministry of Education and Training recently launched a start-up contest for students in 2020 (SV Start-up 2020).

Students who are studying in universities, high schools and even junior high school students are encouraged to participate in the contest.

According to the organisers, the participating projects will aim to solve problems in the community and society in general, contributing to creating breakthroughs to contribute to economic and social development.

The projects will be divided into eight categories: science and technology; industry and manufacturing; agriculture, forestry and fishery; education and health; travel and services; finance and banking; social impact businesses; and other industries and businesses.

The final round is scheduled to take place on September 18- 19 at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education. The contestants will participate in an exhibition of start-up products, ideas and projects at the booths on the topics arranged by the organisers at theevent, named National Start-up Day 2020.

The winner will receive VND60 million in cash, a training support and project implementation support package worth VND115 million and the opportunity to participate in negotiations to receive investment worth US$40,000.

Two second prizes, three third prizes and four consolation prizes will be also awarded. The winner of the start-up projects from junior high school and high school students will receive VND30 million.
