Over 120 business conditions in education reduced and simplified

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) on October 18 announced its finalisation of reducing and simplifying 121 business conditions so far this year, accounting for 57.1% of the total 212 business conditions and exceeding the initially proposed figure by 5.2%.

On June 6, 2018, the Government issued Decree No. 86/2008/ND-CP stipulating foreign cooperation and investment in the area of education, replacing Decree No. 73/2012/ND-CP dated September 26, 2012.

In a report sent to the Government Office concerning the results of business condition reduction and simplification tasks in 2018, the MOET said that after the Decree No. 86 took effect, it has completed the reduction and simplification of the business conditions proposed in the proposal plan related to Decree No. 73, cutting/simplifying an additional 12 business conditions compared to the proposal plan.

Specifically, 24 of the 212 business conditions were reduced, equivalent to 11.3%, while four others were simplified, equal to 1.9%.

Next, on October 4, 2018, the Government issued Decree No. 135/2018/ND-CP on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Government’s Decree No. 46/2017/ND-CP, dated April 21, 2017, on investment and operation conditions in the area of education.

After this decree took effect, the MOET has finalised the reduction and simplication of business conditions as proposed in the proposal plan related to Decree No. 46.

Specifically, 57 of the 212 business conditions were reduced, making 26.9% of the total, while another 36 were simplified, equivalent to 17%.
