Over 886,000 students register for national high school exam 2019

More than 886,000 high school students nationwide have registered to attend the national high school graduation examination 2019, according to the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET).

Hanoi reported the highest number of contestants with more than 74,000 students, with Ho Chi Minh City the runner-up with nearly 71,000 applicants.

According to the MoET, during the registration date from April 1-20, more than 653,000 out of 886,000 studentsregistered to take the exam to get results for university admissions.

The test in social sciences saw the registration of more than 468,000 students, accounting for 52.83% of the total number of registered students, while the test in natural sciences saw the registration of nearly 302,000 students, accounting for 34.07% of the total number of students.Meanwhile, more than 27,000 students registered to take the two composite tests.

Mai Van Trinh, director of the MoET’s Quality Management Department, said that this year's registration data shows little changes compared to previous years with74% of students registering for university admissions.

The national high school graduation examination 2019 is scheduled to take place from June 25-27, 2019.
