Within the programme, the organisers also presented prizes to the winners of a contest on researching the history of special relations between Vietnam and Laos.
In his speech, Secretary of the Party Central Committee cum Head of the Commission for Communication and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasised that the contest has made an important contribution to the education of the revolutionary tradition, helping a large number of people in Vietnam and Laos, especially the younger generations, and international friends to gain a deeper understanding of the historical significance and importance of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, states and peoples.
The contest on learning about the history of special relations between Vietnam and Laos was held in the form of a weekly online quiz on the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Online Newspaper, and the VCNet social network and attracted the attention and participation of a large number of people from all walks of life in Vietnamand Laos as well as international friends.
After 12 weeks (from June 13 to September 5), the system recorded 681,291 entrants with 3,391,365 entries, ofwhich there were 2,027 participants of Lao nationality and 85 contestants from other countries.
A total of 12 first prizes, 24 second prizes and 60 third prizes were presented to the winners.
