The competitions are expected to bring together most of the world’s badminton stars, who have just contested the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2014 in New Delhi, India.
The Yonex Japan Open MetLife BWF World Superseries 2014 is slated for June 10-15 in Tokyo, offering total prize money of US$250,000.
World number 10 Tien Minh is seeded 10th in the men’s singles, behind many Asian players including Malaysian Lee Chong Wei, Chinese Chen Long, Japanese Kenichi Tago, Indonesian Tommy Sugiato and Son Wan Ho from the Republic of Korea.
Following the Japan campaign, Tien Minh will fly to Jakarta, Indonesia for the US$750,000 BCA Indonesia Open MetLife BWF World Super Series Premier 2014 from June 17-22.
At this competition, Minh will be accompanied by top Vietnamese female player and world number 83 Vu Thi Trang, who is to play in the women’s singles category. Trang will have to compete against 15 rivals in the qualification tournament for a main-round slot.
