The championship attracts the participation of more than 230 marksmen from 12 delegations, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong City, Hai Duong Province, and the host Quang Ninh, as well as those from the army and the people's police.
The athletes vied for 38 sets of medals in individual and team events in both male and female categories.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, said that the tournament aims to evaluate the results and quality of coaching and training of shooting teams.
It also provides a good opportunity for young shooters to sharpen their skills and be selected for national teams competing in upcoming regional and international events.
Jointly held by the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Sports and Physical Training, and the Vietnam Shooting Federation, the event will run until April 10.
