Quartet Tran Thi Ngoc Yen, Nguyen Thi My, Nguyen Thi Yen and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen overcame Thailand 2-1 in the final held at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Gymnasium.

This marks the team’s second gold medal at the 20th ASIAD, following their victory over the Philippines in the doubles event on September 29. It is the first time since 2006 that Viet Nam has secured two gold medals in sepak takraw at a single Asian Games.

Earlier, Viet Nam’s women’s four-player team defeated India, Thailand and the Philippines in the group stage, before overcoming hosts Japan in the semi-finals. Notably, Viet Nam beat Thailand 2-0 in the group stage.

The Vietnamese sports delegation is aiming for more than four gold medals at the 2026 ASIAD, which run from September 19 to October 4 in Japan.
