In her opening remarks, Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chair of the Ha Noi City People’s Committee, emphasised that Ha Noi has consistently prioritised the development of sport and physical activity to improve public health, while harnessing the role of community sporting events to inspire residents to maintain active lifestyles.

Over the past five years, the Techcombank Ha Noi International Marathon has welcomed more than 54,000 athletes from 57 countries and territories worldwide.

It has helped promote the cultural and heritage values of the capital city and Viet Nam more broadly, making a positive contribution to the economy.

Now entering its fifth edition, the event continues to expand in scale, enhance the athlete experience in line with international standards, and introduce new cultural initiatives and meaningful social activities, extending the positive impact of sport into the wider life of the city.

For his part, Jens Lottner, CEO of Techcombank, underlined that a connected society, a culture rich in identity, and healthy citizens form the foundation for sustainable development. This, he noted, has been the consistent spirit upheld by the Techcombank Ha Noi International Marathon over the past five years.

Techcombank is proud to partner with Ha Noi in building a meaningful event that contributes positively to community health, economic and cultural life, and enhances the international profile of Ha Noi in particular and Viet Nam as a whole, he stated.

At the opening ceremony, Techcombank donated 7 billion VND to social welfare programmes, reaffirming its commitment to community development alongside the goals of improving health, quality of life and creating sustainable value for the future.

The main race will take place on October 4, attracting around 14,500 domestic and international runners.
