This is the second consecutive month Vietnam has fallen in its global ranking.

The Vietnam team lost 43 points, which slid it down to fourth in Southeast Asia trailing Thailand at 137th in the world, the Philippines at 141st and Singapore 155th.

Japan is still Asia’s best ranking team at 37th with 695 points, followed by Australia in 46th, Iran in 52nd, the Republic of Korea 56th and Uzbekistan 59th.

There was little change in the world’s top ten teams with Spain, Germany and Colombia occupying the three premier positions of the FIFA men’s ladders, respectively.

The world’s top 20 witnessed a stunning progress from the USA which jumped three notches to claim 19th position thanks to their 2013 Gold Cup championship title.

The next FIFA ranking will be released on September 12.
