Hoilett's superb late strike seals Cardiff win over Wolves

Forward Junior Hoilett scored a spectacular winner to earn Cardiff City a comeback 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday and lift them out of the Premier League relegation zone.

Cardiff climbed to 15th on 11 points from 14 games, five behind 11th-placed Wolves who extended their winless league run to six games, losing five of them.

* Spaniard Jon Rahm carded nine-under-par 63 to surge into a share of the halfway lead with Henrik Stenson after the second round at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas on Friday. Swede Stenson shot a second-round 66 to match his European Ryder Cup team mate at 10-under 134, one shot ahead of Americans Dustin Johnson and Patrick Cantlay.

* Manchester United's Chilean international forward, Alexis Sanchez will be out of action "for a long time," after suffering a hamstring injury in training, coach Jose Mourinho said on Friday.

* The president of the Madrid Autonomous Community, Angel Garrido said on Friday that the city has the capacity to host the return leg of the final of the Copa Libertadores between Argentina's River Plate and Boca Juniors.

* Billiards and snooker continued their bid to get included in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with an exhibition to showcase their sports at the Eiffel Tower on Friday. Leading cue sports players travelled to Paris to press their case to the International Olympic Committee.

* Everton will not be cowed into changing their style of play when they face local rivals Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, manager Marco Silva said on Friday. Silva's team have made an encouraging start to the season and are sixth in the league ahead of Sunday's Premier League trip to Liverpool, who are unbeaten in 13 league games and occupy second place in the table.

* Barcelona centre back Samuel Umtiti will undergo treatment on a knee injury in Qatar which is expected to last several weeks, the club said on Friday. The French defender missed nearly two months with a cartilage problem, but returned to play in the 1-1 draw at Atletico Madrid last weekend.

* Four Russian biathletes have been charged with anti-doping rule violations after the International Biathlon Union (IBU) analysed data from Russia's anti-doping agency lab in Moscow, the IBU said on Friday. The four athletes are retired Olympic champions Evgeny Ustyugov and Svetlana Sleptsova as well as Alexander Chernysev, who is also retired, and active athlete Alexander Pechenkin, who has been provisionally suspended.

* Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has played down his side's Premier League title chances ahead of the north London derby at fierce rivals Arsenal on Sunday, despite his side rising to third in the standings. Spurs were last English champions in 1961 but have not finished lower than third in the Premier League in the last three seasons.

* Force India completed Formula One's 2019 driver line-up on Friday with the confirmation that 20-year-old Canadian Lance Stroll will race for them next season after two years with Williams.

* Bournemouth midfielder Dan Gosling is a doubt for Saturday's Premier League trip to Manchester City after picking up a minor knee injury last weekend, manager Eddie Howe said on Friday.

* The International Olympic Committee said on Friday it has stopped planning for the boxing tournament at Tokyo 2020 and launched an investigation into its governing body the International Boxing Association.

* Formula E is planning to race in Seoul from 2020 after signing an agreement with local promoter JSM Holdings, the all-electric series said on Friday. Formula E chief executive Alejandro Agag said after signing the five-year agreement in Seoul, that the Republic of Korea was an ideal venue.

* Cameroon has been stripped of the right to stage the 2019 African Nations Cup finals, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said on Friday. CAF confirmed the unanimous decision after a meeting of its executive committee in Accra.

* Zinedine Zidane's son Enzo Fernandez believes the former Real Madrid coach will return to management soon. Midfielder Enzo, on loan at Spain's Rayo Majadahonda from Swiss side Lausanne-Sport, said his father needed a rest after his Real exploits but will return to the dugout before long.
