Not since Lee Trevino at New Orleans in 1974 had a player negotiated 72 holes without a bogey en route to victory.

* Everton have signed teenage Italy striker Moise Kean from Juventus on a five-year deal. The Italian champions said the fee was an initial €27.5 million (US$31 million) but could rise by a further €2.5 million if certain conditions were met.

* Barcelona have signed Spanish left back Junior Firpo from Real Betis on a five-year deal for an initial transfer fee of 18 million euros (16.4 million pounds), the Spanish champions said on Sunday.

* Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has been ruled out of the start of the new Premier League season with a hamstring injury.
