* Sevilla striker Luuk de Jong scored his first goal for the club to give them a deserved 1-0 win at home to Levante on Sunday in La Liga to go level on points with fourth-placed Real Sociedad. Sociedad came from behind after an early strike from Loren Moron to beat Real Betis 3-1 earlier on Sunday, while Atletico were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Valencia on Saturday.
* A stunning stoppage-time equaliser from Lecce’s Marco Calderoni denied Stefano Pioli a win on his debut as AC Milan coach when his side were held to a 2-2 home draw in Serie A on Sunday. The draw leaves Milan in 12th place on 10 points, three ahead of 15th-placed Lecce.
* Hoffenheim's Ihlas Bebou scored once and helped set up another goal for Andrej Kramaric as his team beat Schalke 04 2-0 on Sunday to deny them the chance to go top of the table. In a tight title race Borussia Moenchengladbach remain top on 16 points, along with VfL Wolfsburg. Champions Bayern, who drew 2-2 at Augsburg on Saturday, are in third on 15, as are Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
* Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts captured his first European Tour title in seven years on Sunday, winning the French Open by one shot after a final round of 72. The 36-year-old, who held a three-shot lead coming into the final day at Le Golf National, fired three birdies and a superb eagle on the par-five 14th before a double bogey on the next hole to finish at 12-under for the tournament.
* Real Madrid have left Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Lucas Vazquez out of their squad for Tuesday's Champions League clash away to Turkish side Galatasaray - a match manager Zinedine Zidane describes as a "must win game". None of them played in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Real Mallorca, Real's first La Liga loss of the season.
* Murray claimed his first ATP title for two-and-a-half years as he beat Stan Wawrinka in an engrossing duel in the European Open final in Antwerp on Sunday. Former world number one Murray, who had hip re-surfacing surgery in January in a bid to salvage his career, battled back from a set and a break down to win 3-6 6-4 6-4.
* Switzerland's Belinda Bencic recovered from a set down to outclass local favourite Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 3-6 6-1 6-1 in the Kremlin Cup final on Sunday to win her second title of the season and fourth overall. In the men's final, Russia's Andrey Rublev mowed down seventh seed Adrian Mannarino 6-4 6-0 in 62 minutes on his 21st birthday to seal his first title since 2017.
* Canada's Denis Shapovalov captured his maiden ATP Tour title at the Stockholm Open on Sunday, easing past Filip Krajinovic 6-4 6-4 in the final. Shapovalov will look to carry his good form into the 21-and-under Next Gen ATP Finals starting on Nov. 5 in Milan.
* Claudio Ranieri earned a point on his debut as Sampdoria coach with a 0-0 draw against his former employers AS Roma in Serie A on Sunday. Last week the manager succeeded Eusebio Di Francesco for the second time this year, having replaced him to take charge of Roma until the end of 2018/19 season in March.
* Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez scored two goals each as Inter Milan survived a late fightback to beat Sassuolo 4-3 at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday. The result leaves Inter in second place on 21 points, one behind champions Juventus and four clear of Atalanta in third.
* Bayern Munich defender Niklas Suele has torn a cruciate ligament and will undergo surgery immediately, the German champions announced on Sunday. The Germany international, who was injured during the first half of the 2-2 draw against Augsburg on Saturday, is expected to be sidelined for several months.
* Inaugural champion Justin Thomas staved off a challenge by Danny Lee to claim his second CJ Cup title in three years with a two-shot victory over the Korean-born New Zealander at Nine Bridges on Sunday. The overnight leaders were level for the first 13 holes before Thomas surged ahead with a birdie on the 14th, while Lee bogeyed the 15th and 16th to effectively drop out of contention.
