Symposium highlights life and career of late Party chief Le Hong Phong

Nhan Dan - A symposium entitled ‘Comrade Le Hong Phong in the Vietnamese Revolution and his Hometown Nghe An’ was held in Vinh city, the central province of Nghe An, on September 4 to mark the 110th anniversary of the late Party General Secretary’s birth (September 6, 1902-2012).

Politburo member, Head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Commission for Communication and Education, Dinh The Huynh attended the symposium, which was organised by the Ho Chi Minh National Politics and Administration Academy, the CPVCC Commission for Communication and Education and the Nghe An provincial Party Committee.

Addressing the event, Politburo member Dinh The Huynh, highlighted the great contributions made by late General Secretary Le Hong Phong, a resilient revolutionary soldier, an eminent student of President Ho Chi Minh and prestigious leader, to the Vietnamese Party and State. The late General Secretary was an excellent example of a true communist who faithfully devoted his entire life to the national revolutionary cause for independence, freedom, and happiness, he added.

In his speech, CPVCC member and Secretary of the Nghe An provincial Party Committee Phan Dinh Trac reviewed the glorious revolutionary career of comrade Le Hong Phong, the second General Secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party as well as his great contributions to the country’s struggle for independence.

Speeches at the symposium also focused on the important contribution made by the late General Secretary to the success of country’s revolutionary strategies as well as the ideological front, making him a shining example of revolutionary virtues and ethics.

* A book entitled ‘Le Hong Phong - Resilient International Communist Soldier, Outstanding Leader of Our Party’ has recently been published by the National Political Publishing House - Truth to mark his 110th birthday.

The book includes more than 60 papers written by Party and State leaders, scientists and researchers, featuring the revolutionary life and career of the late Party chief.
