On August 20, 1945, the uprising flame broke out simultaneously, spreading like a chain, sweeping through many provinces and winning in a short time.
In his letter, he informed the people that Japan had surrendered. He highlighted the growing strength of the Viet Minh Front; and announced the establishment of the Viet Nam National Liberation Committee, elected by the “Congress of People’s Representatives”. He described it as “a major step forward in our nation’s struggle for liberation over nearly a century.”
Following the conclusion of the National Party Conference, the Congress of People’s Representatives was held at Tan Trao (Tuyen Quang). The congress brought together more than 60 delegates from the North, Central, and South regions; overseas Vietnamese representatives; representatives of political parties; and various national and religious organisations.
Upon hearing the news that the US had dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima (Japan), Comrade Ho Chi Minh and the Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee decided to convene a National Party Conference to discuss the plan to launch the general uprising.
