A vibrant celebration of traditional New Year festivals from Cambodia, Laos and Thailand held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 11 helped deepen friendship, cultural understanding and solidarity between Viet Nam and the countries.

A delegation from Ho Chi Minh City led by Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Dang Minh Thong visited the Lao Consulate General on April 10 to present flowers and extend New Year wishes on the occasion of Laos' traditional Bunpimay festival.

The Lao Embassy in Viet Nam on April 8 held a ceremony in Ha Noi to celebrate Laos’ traditional New Year festival Bunpimay.

On the occasion of Laos’ traditional New Year festival Bunpimay (Buddhist Era 2569), Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front’s Central Committee, sent a congratulatory letter to Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, Politburo member, and President of the Lao Front for National Development’s Central Committee.

A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, led by Ambassador Pham Viet Hung and his spouse Ho Thi Thu Trang, on April 2 paid a visit to the Lao Embassy to extend greetings on the occasion of Laos’ traditional New Year Bunpimay.

The Vietnamese and Lao embassies and delegations in Belgium, the EU, and the Netherlands co-organised an exchange event marking the Lao traditional New Year festival Bunpimay in Brussels on April 12.
