From independence to strength: A Viet Nam standing firm in the modern era

If previous generations bravely fought for the right to determine the nation’s destiny, today’s generation carries the mission of building up internal strength so that the country can truly master its own future. National Day (September 2) is an occasion for us to look back on the arduous journey we have travelled and contemplate on the path ahead.

The memory of that day was a great source of inspiration for musician Doan Nho to compose songs that have endured with time.

Witnesses recall the first Independence Day

President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, at historic Ba Dinh Square, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam. Eighty years have passed, yet witnesses who were present in that sacred moment still preserve their emotions intact.
