Localities, ministries requested to prepare proactive response to storm Maysak

The National Steering Committee for Civil Defence on July 3 issued an urgent official dispatch urging northern localities, ministries and agencies to take proactive response to tropical storm Maysak, the first of its kind to enter the East Sea/South China Sea this year, and subsequent floods, as it is forecast to bring heavy rain and widespread impacts across the northern region.

Typhoon Wipha enters northern Gulf of Tonkin

Storm No. 3, internationally known as Typhoon Wipha, passed north of China’s Leizhou Peninsula on the morning of July 21 and entered the northern Gulf of Tonkin, posing a growing threat to Viet Nam’s northern and north-central coastal regions, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
