High-tech marine aquaculture opens new development space

Implementing Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW dated July 28, 2026, of the Party Central Committee on building and developing Viet Nam into a strong maritime nation with high-tech marine aquaculture, the country is facing a major opportunity to make a breakthrough from the ocean, prosper from the sea and enhance its competitiveness in the region and the world.

In Lien Huong Commune, several HDPE cage-based marine aquaculture areas have been established.

Development of high-tech marine aquaculture

Lam Dong has more than 192km of coastline, along with a territorial sea area of 52,000km², providing favourable conditions for the development of marine aquaculture. As the local sea area has no large, sheltered bays and the coastline is exposed to complex waves and winds, many localities are switching from wooden cages to durable HDPE cages, enhancing resilience, reducing risks, and gradually establishing high-tech marine aquaculture areas.
