Viet Nam remained the second most popular overseas destination for Korean tourists in May, after Japan.
Information released by the Korea Tourism Organisation at the 2026 ASEAN Tourism Forum shows that the number of Korean visitors to Southeast Asia has seen breakthrough growth in recent years. Accordingly, Viet Nam continues to affirm its position as the region’s leading destination, accounting for around half of the total number of Korean visitors to Southeast Asia.
Bookings from Korean tourists for all-inclusive tours to Sapa in Viet Nam's Lao Cai province in the first half of 2025 surged by 333% compared to the same period in 2024, according to Hana Tour – the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s largest travel agency.
