Viet Nam has rolled out a cross-border QR payment service with the Republic of Korea (RoK), marking a new step in financial connectivity between the two countries and supporting growing tourism and trade flows.

The Viet Nam National Payment Corporation (NAPAS) and Viet Nam Payment Solutions Joint Stock Company (VNPAY) signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement on February 11 aimed at developing the digital payment ecosystem.

Viet Nam’s payment market closed 2025 with a notable milestone, with the number of online payment transactions rising by more than 25% against 2024.

From December 2, Chinese visitors to Viet Nam can use their familiar mobile payment apps to scan VIETQR Global codes and make direct payments at shopping, dining and tourist locations nationwide.
