This move seeks to further strengthen the payment ecosystem, apply new technologies and expand services, thereby accelerating the adoption of cashless payments in Viet Nam.

A key component of the agreement is cross-border QR code payments under the VIETQRGlobal brand.

Accordingly, international visitors to Viet Nam will be able to make payments by scanning VIETQRGlobal codes at merchant outlets within VNPAY’s acceptance network.

Conversely, Vietnamese users can use the VNPAY application to scan QR codes and make payments at merchant outlets in the overseas partner networks of NAPAS.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nguyen Quang Minh, General Director of NAPAS, expressed confidence that the joint deployment of the VIETQRGlobal service would meet the growing payment needs of Vietnamese people and international visitors alike, thereby contributing to the promotion of trade, tourism and Viet Nam’s international financial integration.

Le Tanh, General Director of VNPAY, emphasised that the cooperation between VNPAY and NAPAS reflects a shared vision and strong complementarities in capabilities between the two entities, with the goal of developing payment solutions that are safer, more convenient and more efficient.

The comprehensive cooperation agreement between NAPAS and VNPAY is expected to help promote cashless payments, foster the development of the digital economy and advance Viet Nam’s international financial integration.
