General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and President To Lam met with Speaker of the Danish Parliament Henrik Frandsen in Copenhagen on October 19 afternoon (local time), as part of his ongoing state visit to the European country.

Viet Nam attaches importance to and wants to further deepen its traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Denmark, one of its key partners in Northern Europe and Europe as a whole, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and President To Lam told King Frederik X on October 19.

King Frederik X of Denmark on October 19 morning (local time) presented General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and President To Lam with the Order of the Elephant, the European country’s highest-ranked honour awarded to members of the Royal Family and foreign heads of state.

At the invitation of King Frederik X and Queen Mary of the Kingdom of Denmark, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam To Lam, accompanied by his spouse and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, is paying a state visit to the Kingdom of Denmark.

Party General Secretary and President To Lam’s state visit to Denmark and official visits to the European Union (EU) and Belgium is expected to open new opportunities to strengthen the development capacity and strategic autonomy of Viet Nam and its partners, delivering tangible benefits to citizens and businesses and contributing to peace, cooperation and sustainable development in both regions and globally.

General Secretary and President Lam urged JBIC to continue promoting the substantive implementation of projects under the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC), and step up discussions on potential cooperation within the framework of the POWERR Asia (Partnership on Wide Energy and Resources Resilience Asia) initiative, including the development of strategic energy reserves.

Ideological work must bring about tangible changes, stay close to reality and the people, proactively identify and promote the resolution of problems, provide timely information, and maintain honesty in dialogue, said top leader To Lam.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, chaired the third conference of the commission for the 2025–2030 tenure in Ha Noi on September 30 to review military and defence tasks in the third quarter and set priorities for the last one.

General Secretary and President To Lam demanded a sweeping review rather than piecemeal amendments to individual laws, so that people's rights are protected on a continuing basis.
