General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, chaired the third conference of the commission for the 2025–2030 tenure in Ha Noi on September 30 to review military and defence tasks in the third quarter and set priorities for the last one.

General Secretary and President To Lam demanded a sweeping review rather than piecemeal amendments to individual laws, so that people's rights are protected on a continuing basis.

The Party and State leader requested that Ha Noi takes the lead in personnel development, adding every decision regarding personnel affects the city's development capacity and the public image of the administrative apparatus.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that violations had been strictly handled in accordance with the law, with no prohibited zones or exceptions, while the organisation and operational mechanisms of the Central Steering Committee and its provincial-level chapters had been further improved.

At the high-level general debate of the UNGA, General Secretary and President To Lam will deliver an important address and engage in meetings with leaders of countries, partners and international organisations. He is also scheduled to meet with US administration and congressional leaders as part of the trip.
