Ha Noi has officially launched an integrated multimodal electronic ticketing system for its public transport network, marking a significant milestone in the city’s drive to develop an intelligent transport system and foster a modern, civic-minded culture of public transport use.

Ho Chi Minh City is developing a programme to provide free bus travel for all residents. This is not merely a welfare policy, but also a step towards changing the travel habits of millions of people to ease traffic congestion and reduce environmental pollution.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Public Transport Management Centre will offer free public bus and metro services on January 1, 2026, to meet residents’ travel and leisure needs during the New Year holiday.
