They can witness the historic moment when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam, now the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Eighty years and Independence Day feast

On Independence Day, September 2, 2025, the Red River surged with powerful currents. This year, the waters rose high, just like in the final days of August 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh returned to Ha Noi to prepare for that historic moment: the proclamation of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam.

General Phan Van Giang pays tributes at historical sites in Thai Nguyen Province

In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025), Politburo member and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang led a working delegation to offer incense and flowers at the Special National Historical Relic Site of the Dinh Hoa Safe Zone in Thai Nguyen Province on August 2.
