The Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela held a solemn reception at Viet Nam House in Caracas on September 2 to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945–2026). Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My presided over the event.

In the historically significant setting of the Reunification Hall, virtual reality technology allows visitors to step back in time and immerse themselves in Ba Dinh Square as it was 81 years ago. They can witness the historic moment when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam, now the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

On Independence Day, September 2, 2025, the Red River surged with powerful currents. This year, the waters rose high, just like in the final days of August 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh returned to Ha Noi to prepare for that historic moment: the proclamation of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam.

On the afternoon of August 28, the people of Hue City welcomed the delegation of the Provisional Government, led by Tran Huy Lieu, which arrived to witness Emperor Bao Dai’s abdication and to receive the imperial seal and sword from Viet Nam’s last monarch.

In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025), Politburo member and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang led a working delegation to offer incense and flowers at the Special National Historical Relic Site of the Dinh Hoa Safe Zone in Thai Nguyen Province on August 2.

Viet Nam has invited the defence ministers of Russia, China, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan to attend the celebration of the 80th National Day anniversary on September 2; and five countries – Russia, China, Laos, Cambodia, and Belarus – to send forces to participate in the parade at the National Day celebration.

The exhibition on 80-year national achievements must vividly portray Viet Nam’s journey of safeguarding and building the nation, while inspiring national pride and aspiration as the country enters a new development era, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said on June 23.
