Viet Nam and Angola celebrated the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations (November 12, 1975–2025) with a ceremony held in Luanda on August 7.

State President Luong Cuong and his spouse, along with a high-level delegation of Viet Nam, met with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Angola on the evening of August 7 (local time), part of his state visit to the African country.

As part of his state visit to Angola, State President Luong Cuong and his spouse, accompanied by a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, laid wreaths at several important memorial sites in the capital city of Luanda on August 7 morning (local time).

State President Luong Cuong, his spouse, and a high-ranking delegation of Viet Nam arrived at Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda on August 6 afternoon (local time), beginning a state visit to Angola at the invitation of President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and his spouse.

The upcoming state visit to Angola by Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong holds profound significance, marking a turning point in the history of traditional friendship between the two countries, Angolan Ambassador to Viet Nam Fernando Miguel told the press.
