In recent years, many craft villages in Ha Noi have refreshed their approach to enhance visitor experiences, thereby creating new appeal and strengthening competitiveness.
The opening ceremony of the 21st Viet Nam Craft Village Fair 2025, the National One Commune One Product (OCOP) Exhibition, and the Week for Introducing Lang Son Province’s OCOP Products in Ha Noi took place on October 10 in the capital city.
Ha Noi, with its wealth of craft villages, stands before an opportunity to turn heritage into economic power, tourism appeal, and a national brand, provided that barriers relating to finance, promotion, and support mechanisms are removed such that traditional craft villages can develop further in contemporary life.
Ha Noi city currently has 1,350 craft villages and villages with occupations, of which 337 traditional occupations have been recognised. Craft villages have helped increase income and create jobs for thousands of workers. Developing craft villages not only preserves traditional identities, but also creates leverage in building new rural areas.
The Ha Noi Department of Industry and Trade held an opening ceremony for the Ha Noi Great Souvenirs 2025 on August 14.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, there are more than 5,400 craft villages nationwide, of which the Red River Delta region alone has about 1,500 villages, with around 300 recognised as traditional craft villages.
