A working delegation from the Embassy of Viet Nam in Venezuela, led by Ambassador Vu Trung My, on July 2 visited the Vietnamese search and rescue team carrying out international humanitarian duties in La Guaira state of Venezuela.

While participating in earthquake relief operations in Playa Grande, La Guaira state of Venezuela, the Vietnamese rescue team on June 30 (local time) identified 11 locations suspected of containing victims and launched search-and-rescue efforts.

Less than a day after operating its first mission, Vietnam Airlines has carried out a second special flight, transporting 46.8 tonnes of relief supplies, equipment, and materials for Viet Nam's search and rescue forces to Venezuela, ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian assistance in the aftermath of the recent earthquake.

Viet Nam Airlines on June 29 operated a special flight transporting search-and-rescue and humanitarian assistance teams, equipment and relief supplies to Venezuela to support recovery efforts following the recent devastating earthquakes in the South American nation.

Under a decision by the Ministry of National Defence, Viet Nam is dispatching 82 personnel, along with equipment and supplies, to support search-and-rescue efforts and post-earthquake recovery in Venezuela. The Border Guard force contributes a unit comprising 10 personnel and eight search dogs.

Following the devastating earthquakes that caused severe losses of life and property in Venezuela, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and President of Viet Nam To Lam on June 25 sent a message of condolence to Acting President Delcy Eloina Rodriguez Gomez, the Government and people of Venezuela.

First Vice President of the Venezuelan National Assembly Pedro Infante praised the life, career and great thought of President Ho Chi Minh while addressing a wreath-laying ceremony held on June 24 at the Ho Chi Minh Monument in the capital city of Caracas as part of Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung's official visit to Venezuela.

A series of activities aimed at strengthening cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos, as well as Venezuela, have recently taken place.

Venezuela has voiced its desire to further deepen its comprehensive partnership with Viet Nam through stronger political ties, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, while accelerating the implementation of bilateral cooperation agreements reached by the two countries' leaders.

On the morning of May 15 (local time), in Caracas, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the city authorities and the Embassy of Viet Nam, solemnly held a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument of President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of his birth (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026).

Leaders of Russia, Brunei, Japan, Venezuela, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Angola, Sweden and Switzerland and political parties have sent congratulatory messages and letters to Party General Secretary To Lam on his election as State President, Le Minh Hung on his election as Prime Minister and Tran Thanh Man on his election as National Assembly Chairman.

On February 11 (local time), a delegation led by Chair of the National Assembly’s Committee for External Relations and President of the Venezuela–Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Group Saúl Ortega visited the Embassy of Viet Nam in Venezuela to congratulate the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela affirmed that the Venezuelan Government and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) attach great importance to solidarity and cooperation with Viet Nam, and expressed the desire of both sides to further strengthen and expand cooperation within the framework of the Viet Nam–Venezuela Comprehensive Partnership in the new context.

Viet Nam is deeply concerned about information regarding the current situation in Venezuela, spokeswoman of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said on January 3.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My confirmed on January 3 that as of now, all Vietnamese citizens in Venezuela are safe.

Regarding the nationwide state of emergency declared in Venezuela following overnight explosions, representatives from Vietnamese carriers with international routes such as Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet said on January 3 afternoon that they do not operate direct flights to Venezuela, nor do they have routes that pass through Venezuelan airspace.

The participation of Vietnamese businesses in the 18th Venezuela International Tourism Fair (FITVEN 2025) not only reflects the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and Venezuela, but also opens up opportunities to establish new links, gradually building a bridge for bilateral tourism cooperation.

Viet Nam and Venezuela will strengthen cooperation in training, research, and policy consultation, aiming to deepen their long-standing friendship and expand practical collaboration.
